i had an interview for usp today.
and i met crystal my primary 3 classmate there! so cool. i was so scared she wasnt gonna be who i thought she was. shes doing psy too. cool stuff. probably course mates if we both go to nus.
the interview was fun.
like we just talked about art.
thank goodness it was about art =)
somehow the convo just headed that way.
we talked about art's place in today's society, art and technology and how they compliment each other, what it means to be creative, creativity in different contexts, the arts vs the sciences, whether they should be looked at as different entities and what are their common grounds, basically a very very interesting topic (to me). and about why psychology. the interviewer actually ask me why not business its also about helping people. haha. i got a bit confused. psychology vs business is quite a weird comparison actually if he compared psy and social work it would be harder. but i just told him that i cannot see myself in business since i preferred working with youths and children. and when i talked about very special arts (VSA) the younger one had this huh? look on his face. the older interviewer actually had to go dont worry we know what it is haha. it was quite funny.
until the part where they asked if i were to do two teaching subjects what would they be. i said eng and eng lit hahaha cause art needs to be done overseas.
then one of them was like, 'so why are you against an overseas education?'
(you could literally see the question mark hanging above my head)
and then i told them that i actually applied overseas as well. sighh. and my list of accepted schools. sighh annoying. i never wanted to mention that to them.
then one of them said, "so if its moe (local) scholarship + usp + nus, vs moe (overseas) + carnegie mellon, which will it be?"
wth.
i told them cmu. hahaha.
and desperately tried to salvage myself by telling them that i wanna double major and how good both faculties at cmu actually were, though its famous for engineering in sing.
shit la. stupid right. haha.
oh well. it was an enjoyable half hour conversation nonetheless.
oh. and you know what.
some people wore sport shoes for the interview. SPORTS SHOES. no im not kidding. sports shoes. omg.
and some people were in three quarter pants.
and some people were in blue jeans.
i mean, if you were in black jeans and tried to stealth or something thats okay la. but wth blue jeans + sports shoes = looking like a tourist!
if i were the interviewer, (thats a very big if by the way) i would err sit aghast at the sight of my interviewees. haha.
if my mum was there, she would have given them a piece of her mind.
she nags at me when i wear tshirt and shorts, even to just go downstairs and buy something from the neighbourhood.
whats wrong with tshirt and shorts when i go downstairs to buy some chocolates? haha
all in all,
an interesting day.
