NJC Art Elective Programme Graduation Show 2008 - Route

Not all paths converge; some are lonely roads, some walled in, still others are defined by their immediate environs or the individuals that cross them. Encounters and departures along these passages, and even the nature of the journey itself are examined with fresh perspective in this year's exhibition. Route features video art, animation, fashion, graphic design, photography, and installations by 15 young artists from National Junior College's Art Elective Program.

i had an amazing time. i never had so much fun in such a long, long, long time.
and im truly grateful that i have such awesome friends that would come for it 2 weeks before the big As.
kim, jamie, enqin, ly, andrew, andre, nat, mer, tis, gladys, mrs jalleh, mrs tan, mr tan and everybody else =)
thanks for coming, and i hope you guys had a better understanding of what art can be - we dont just draw and paint! =)

and so this marks the end of my njc journey, which predominantly revolved around art and floorball.
i am glad to say that i had a lot of fun in school.
yes, i do hear about nj being a mugger school,
and yet i do not deny it,
but fundamentally it is really about how you want to live your life,
nj life was fun for me,
perhaps not so for many others.

i have awesome teachers,
i daresay i have the most number of gp classes anyone in nj has ever had, due to having the most dedicated teacher,
i have an econs teacher who see me every single week for consultations, she never stopped believing even though i thought i was hopeless,
i have geography teachers that truly make their lessons come alive, such that i am forever excited to study geog,
i have a math teacher that saw me through my four years in nj,
and who can forget my amazing art teachers, their guidance and criticism that fuel my passion for art,
and my civics tutor, the sweetest, most caring teacher who gave us pens engraved with our names =)

nj IP gave me a stellar education, coupled with millions of opportunities to explore - MUNS, myanmar, maldives, london, paris, kuantan and kuala lumpur, to participate in both sports and performing arts groups, to lead, and to make friends, people whom i have seen outgrow their teenage years, and whom have seen me grow as well.

even though i might not have made the same choices that i did 4 years ago,
i do not deny that i have benefitted from an njc education.
my junior college years are ones that i will remember dearly, especially the ip1 and 2 days spent with my favourite class =)

it is perculiar that people whom i consider my best friends were not as supportive as i thought they would be,
and perhaps it is during trying periods that one can tell which friends truly care.
and that is my deepest regret -
to not have had the chance to know some of these friends on a deeper level,
and to not have had the chance to form friendships deep enough with so called 'best friends' such that they truly cared.
