my grandma just passed away.

today was the last day of 5 days of her wake.

it was a traditional taoist funeral, where most of us didnt have a clue what we were doing. but well my grandma would have wanted it.

i hate prayers really. i cant stand the smoke. plus having to sit there and listen to them chant and sing stuff that i dont understand. and i hate the walking around the coffin part. made me wanna cry.

oh and theres this bridge crossing thing. where females with menses cant cross the bridge!! hahaha!! i could cross la but quite funny right its like a process where you know whos having menses and whos not. hahaha.

and my female cousin and felt very unjustified. the whole taoist tradition practices gender inequality!! all the male sons stand right in front, female daughters stand behind them, male cousins in front and the priest person actually said "po chu qu de shui (water that can be thrown away)" stand behind. wth. there are only 3 female cousins la and 10 plus male cousins so because we were so unimportant we were always behind. annoying.

sighh but the worst part is when the coffin goes into the fire. feels as if the tears cant stop falling.

my cousins and i played bridge! hahaha. only three of us knew how to play so we taught the rest.

anyway gareth pugh's show last week ROCKED. will blog about it some other time. the crowd dressed REALLY WELL. it was like "whoa". then when we stepped out onto orchard road we were thinking, "hmm singaporeans can dress better." then when i stepped out into the heartlands i was like, "omg ppl dress like shit." hahaha. that was how "whoa" it was.

i cant wait for tmr. and then for sunday.
im praying for you.
(and for me too actually)
please please please dont let it be on sunday.
