i came back from china about a week ago. here are a few memorable moments
Qingdao 2008
7 hr train ride in supposedly their "first class" cabins. i didnt sleep at all. it was cold, dark and shaky. very very shaky.
went up to taishan and the guide spoke in chinese, we were at kongzi miao (confucius temple) and he was telling us about all the different family members and their wives and children. it was like a reenacement of my sec 1 and 2 zhong hua wen shi lessons where we didnt know what the teacher was talking about half the time. our tests were like ____ emperor did this and that during this particular era. we just anyhow guess the emperors.
my sister wore 7 layers up the mountain. it was that cold. the wind was so strong it felt like we could be blown off the mountain any time.
it snowed!!!!!! prettayyyy!! i like.
the food was so damn cheap! we ate at restaurants every meal. you can actually get sick of restaurant food you know. i had at least 2 beijing ducks, 10 chinese meals, a couple of western, korean, japanese, french, i even ate at starbucks and pizza hut haha. after a while it just got quite sian. the food.
the dvds are like super cheap too. 2.50 sing, and NOT pirated. haha. my dad bought a dvd player and we hung around watching dvds when we were bored. i watched white chicks like twice. its such a classic.
flew back on 26 dec. rushed my essays like crazy. starting on my portfolio now. two more days to finish!
28th was christmas party at my house with the floorballers. the guard was so irritating. he refused to let us play mahjong in my function room, which has transparent glass windows haha. he told me that he would write a letter of complaint to my parents if we continued playing. such a difficult person.
in the guide book, the rules said "no gambling mahjong". he read it as "no gambling, mahjong". its either his english was bad or his eyesight was bad.
so i asked my mum down to speak to the guard but he refused and gave me this lecture on how i should not gamble since i am still so young or else i will get addicted. i wanted to tell him my mum taught me to play mahjong. haha.
anyway we still had fun playing murderer with the guys where waikit kept getting killed first. damn funny. and we played dog and bone in the pool. and hide and seek. haha. zhen and i were such bad hiders.
31st- 1st was spent with the floorballers again!
we had a floorball marathon at tampines cc and stayed over.
we nearly died playing floorball, my second time running since 5 months ago haha. but it was fun! playing in different positions and with no pressure. most of our matches were against ij seniors and they were really nice. enjoyed playing with them.
our side activities were just as fun. played bridge where everyone else (instigated by
PRISCILIA GOH) kept picking on me!! pris purposely call me when she knows shes gonna lose okayy. you suck la pris haha.
the matches were fun to watch. balls kept flying at us. due to our fast reflexes, we didnt really get hurt. watched prison break. im addicted now i keep watching. which is simply bad cause i still have 1029480239480329r8 art stuff to do. had midnight food from 7-11. ate cup noodles with pris. the last time i did that was 3 years ago with elaine and two random guys. i think its fun to eat random food at night. walked around with zhen taking pictures. camwhored with zhen and pris.
and then came one of my favourite parts of the day -
eating mac breakfast!! haha and talking about everything.
about life, death, and after death.
about ghosts, souls, spirits,
about guys, ideal boyfriends, ideal husbands, first dates, the notion of marriage and what it entails, whether dating is a seperate thing from having boyfriends,
the notion of true love and its existence,
what made it interesting was we all had differing views and we were comfortable with each other to say whatever we wanted.
so ended my first conversation of 2009.
no resolutions whatsoever this year, i never keep them. besides, its a year where everything is so uncertain. i dont know how to make resolutions.
and then today,
i went to watch ponyo on the cliff. (or is it in the cliff)
i must say i was rather disappointed. i mean, its hayao miyazaki!!!!!
maybe i went in with too much expectations. but spirited away and howl's moving castle were so good! dont wanna spoil it so go watch it yourself. the plot issnt as fantastic, but as an artist, hayao miyazaki is still very very very good.
ate at thai express. i think i ordered the wrong dish. it was spicy and oily and i couldn finish it.

4th jan. hot date with xinhui and munyee!!! two of my favourite ppl from st nicks. cant wait!
