today is one of those ordinarily happy days.
it didnt start out very happy.
training was going well as usual, when suddenly i was reaching for the ball and i felt my ankle gave way.
my first thought was, "omg shit, this cant be happening."
such an ironic situation. it was just last week that i brought mer to the sinseh and was thinking to myself - thank goodness it issnt me, its just too bad a timing to sprain an ankle, what with three weeks till nationals.
AND THEN.
i had to go sprain my ankle.
the whole situation is almost hilarious actually.
im just glad that it wasnt a bad sprain.
after training mer and i went to see the sinseh together.
we took cab. and then we both hobbled to the sinseh's clinic.
just imagine.
two girls holding sticks, hobbling side by side.
and wait. theres more.
okay lets start right from the beginning. (story telling time)
these two girls met each other in primary five as classmates and became good friends.
oh well like all stories, things dont always turn out well.
they left for seperate schools after their PSLE exam, but two years later end up in the same school again taking the same IP course.
whats more, both girls ended up joining the same two ccas,
as violinists in the string ensemble, went for syf together, and ended up quitting strings for floorball.
after seven months, both girls ended up as captain and vice captain of their loved sport, and led the team for nationals 2008.
they got the same grip, so happened to both break their blades and got the same coloured blades, and at the beginning of this year got the same pair of asics shoes.
and then in the most crucial month of june, they both sprain their ankles.
i tell you, i bet it was the shoes.
i mean. whats the likelyhood of BOTH the captain and the vice captains spraining their ankles?
next to zero.
and then today, both had to go to 6th avenue to meet their respective best friends so they took a cab there, continually lamenting on the absurdity of the situation.
this girl,
melissa tham, is really special to me.
eight years of friendship, and still going strong. =)
we are not best friends, were never best friends, and i believe never will be.
we are innately similar in so many ways, yet drastically different as well.
we have similar beliefs, similar value systems, similar goals in life.
and our destinies seem to cross paths ever so often.
but yet, we arent exactly the same 'type' of people, if you know what i mean.
i dont really know how to put it,
but what i do know is we are going to be friends for a long, long time.
and this year, this year is going to be a special chapter in our lives.
dearest mer, i do hope this chapter will have our
fairy tale ending, the way we have always wanted it to be.
such that when we start off our next chapter, it will be a
fairy tale beginning.
met up with
munyee today.
i havent seen her for almost a year.
we just had so much to talk about, updates of our latest life events, gossips and what not.
it was just so comfortable with her, i felt as if i never left st nicks four years ago.
im so thankful to have her in my life, someone whom i can tell absolutely anything to, someone whom will never
judge me, because even though shes not part of my everyday life anymore, shes still one of those few people who already know me inside and out.
its truly hard to find such friends in nj, and possibly in one's entire life.
cant wait to see her again =)
and i really have to thank
kim for yesterday.
as of yesterday morning, my 1500 word essay's word count stood at zero. i was in a real panic actually, as i didnt even have a title and i had absolutely no idea what to write about plus i had to finish the essay that night.
i dragged kim to national library with me, and then i realised they didnt have any books about music so we had to head to the esplanade.
kims a life saver. having such a fantastic writer aiding me was a real help. she flipped through tons and tons of books with me, and helped me draft out an outline for my essay.
what kind of friend would give up a whole entire day of study time to help another friend with her essay?and no, kim's not one of my best friends either.
shes more like my favourite friend, we enjoy each others company sooo much.
we have the same interests - music and art.
both of us go crazy just talking about them, frequently playing the piano in school together or showing each other our artworks.
if i were to choose someone with a similar personality, ill pick kim.
according to her, we have the same 'deer in the headlight' personality, whatever that means.
we have the same dreams as well, both of us hope to study overseas in the same range of courses.
and we already have plans to start our own arty farty business, something to do with promotion of the arts.
shes pretty hard to describe, too unique, having too much of her own style, but whatever the case, shes another one of those friends that i know will
last a lifetime.so indeed, my day which started out screwed up didnt turn out to be so bad afterall.
today, i count my blessings that come in the form of friends.
and i am truly blessed.
for those that i named are but just a few.
there are still the floorballers, my classmates, my aep mates, and so many other people in my life that i am thankful for.
and so i am.
truly blessed.
